1. Information We Collect
When you sign up, we collect your full name, phone number, email address, city, and date of birth (to verify you are 18+). To use rides and deliveries, we collect your live location via GPS when the app is open. To process payments, we collect tokenised payment information from our regulated partners — your full card or momo PIN never touches our servers. For driver and seller accounts, we additionally collect a national ID or driver's licence, vehicle documents, and a profile photograph for verification. We also collect basic device and connection data (device model, OS version, IP address, app version) to detect fraud and improve reliability.
2. How We Use Your Data
We use your information to: (a) operate the VeviGoo service — match riders with customers, route deliveries, process payments and dispatch couriers; (b) keep the platform safe — verify identities, detect fraudulent transactions, investigate complaints, and respond to law-enforcement requests; (c) provide customer support — respond to your questions and resolve disputes; (d) improve the service — analyse aggregate trip patterns, app performance, and feature usage; (e) communicate with you — send transactional messages, ride receipts, payout statements, and (with your consent) marketing about new features and offers.
3. Location Data
VeviGoo relies on GPS location to function. We collect location data only when the app is open in the foreground for customers, and when on-duty for riders and drivers. We use location to: match you with the nearest available rider, route trips and deliveries, share trip status with you and contacts you authorise, and calculate accurate fares. You can revoke location permission at any time in your device settings, but most features will not work without it.
4. Payments and Financial Data
All in-app payments are processed by PCI-DSS-compliant partners (MTN Mobile Money, Vodafone Cash, AirtelTigo Money, Stripe). Payment credentials are tokenised by the partner; VeviGoo stores only the token and the last four digits of the card or wallet number. We never store your full PIN, password, OTP or CVC. Investor wallet balances and payout history are stored in our database in encrypted form.
6. Data Security
Data in transit is protected with TLS 1.2+ encryption. Data at rest is encrypted in our managed databases. Access to production systems is limited to a small number of named engineers using multi-factor authentication. Investor and admin accounts support TOTP-based two-factor authentication and recovery codes. We monitor accounts continuously for unusual login patterns and fraudulent transactions. No system is perfectly secure, but we follow industry best practice and disclose material breaches as required by Ghanaian law.
8. Your Rights
You can view and update most account details directly in the app under Profile → Account. You may request a copy of all data we hold on you, request correction of inaccuracies, or request permanent deletion of your account and data. Email these requests to privacy@vevigoo.com — we respond within 30 days. Note that we may retain some information after deletion if required by law (for example, trip records for tax reporting). You may also withdraw consent for non-essential communications at any time by tapping "unsubscribe" in our emails or toggling preferences in the app.
9. Children's Privacy
VeviGoo is intended for users aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If we discover an account belongs to a minor, we will deactivate it and delete the data. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact privacy@vevigoo.com.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may revise this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes (such as new categories of data we collect or new sharing partners) will be announced in-app and via email at least 14 days in advance. The latest version is always available at vevigoo.com/privacy.
11. Contact Information
For privacy questions, data requests, or to report a privacy concern, contact our Data Protection Officer at privacy@vevigoo.com or write to: VeviGoo Limited, Accra, Ghana. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Data Protection Commission of Ghana if you believe we have not handled your data properly.
